I’m Darryl, owner of Yumii Pâtisserie. I started my career as a pastry chef many years ago, working for Master Davies at the Compass Rose Cafe. I soon discovered my passion, and strove to become better and better at the job I loved. I started at Camborne College as a level 3 Pâtisserie student and worked hard to gain experience at a range of hotels in Cornwall. I continued working in a number of great hotels for many years, improving my skill set all the time. A highlight for me was getting through to the final of Bake Off: The Professionals in 2018, something I never thought I would do!
After years of working in hotels, I decided it was time for a change, and so I created Yumii Pâtisserie. Through Yumii, I hope to be able provide delicious pastries across Cornwall, as well as share my passion and knowledge with upcoming chefs. Yumii Pâtisserie combines artistic flair with a deep scientific understanding of flavours and textures to create beautiful (and delicious!) cakes and pastries. As well as consultations, tutorials and custom orders, we are now pleased to announce our new afternoon tea service at Rebellion Roast House. The afternoon tea contains a selection of treats, such as orange and buttermilk scones, éclairs and mini loaves. This is the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon tea in great surroundings!

The passion and encouragement shown to me by my teachers and mentors in the beginning of my career is a big part of what shaped me as a chef. Now, I want to share my own knowledge, expertise and love for pastry with budding chefs – professionals or hobbyists!
